Recently, a woman whom I had known my entire life and who had been my best friend from the moment I met her, has passed away. This is something that I could never have prepared myself for, and it was a difficult time to go to the viewing and the funeral to say goodbye to someone who had meant so much to me and whom I will cherish for my entire life. I think she snuck her way into my dreams this past night/morning.
After the funeral, Toots' niece offered that if I would want anything or if there was something that held memories that I would like to have, to let her know. I knew right away what held a lot of memories for us: her (small) collection of porcelain dolls, which were kept in a china cabinet that I would look at every time I would visit. These were just...our thing. When I told my mother about these dolls, she kinda chuckled, because Toots had gotten me dolls that made a matching set to hers, and I did not know about these, because they were put away for safe keeping. Funny how things work out, right? Well, I didn't tell Toots' niece that I would like to have these yet.
I slept uneasily after the funeral, but I did dream. I dreamed that we were standing in her dining room together looking at the dolls. She was making a story about each one of them, and we named them together, something that we had truly done before, many, many, many times. I did not see Toots' face, only her feet. She was wearing turquoise colored slipper socks with white tread pads on them. I could hear her laughing. There's not a lot more that I can remember about this dream, but I wish I could. In my dream book that Josh and Ida got me, it lead me in some amazing directions. Turquoise means healing and spiritual. Socks mean warmth and comfort. Feet mean balancing or healing the body. Friend means a quality you see in a friend is a projected quality of your own self, one perhaps not easily recognized. I think that she was telling me that although I suffered a loss, I need to heal and move on for she is happy. I also think that it says that I strive to be like her, for she was truly an incredible person.
Another dream I had this night was I was at Ryan's house and getting ready to leave for work. I was to start work at 5pm. Looking at the clock on the stove, it was 4:28pm. My grandma walked in the back door and was standing at the washing machine, taking the laundry soap. She had on a blue coat, but I did not see her face, she kept her back to us. I don't remember leaving Ryan's house, but I somehow ended up at my house, waiting for my mom to take me to work. I was growing impatient, because I knew I was going to be late. Mom was standing at the sink in the kitchen, also with her back to me. I soon fell asleep on the couch, and woke up, looking at my phone and it was now 5:19pm. My phone then rang and it was my manager, calling to ask where I was. I told her that I was coming and she said that another staff was already there and again asked if I was coming. I told her yes and she said "well I was HOPING" and she hung up. I stormed into the kitchen and began yelling at my mom, who was wearing a yellow sweater. I screamed that it was all her fault. She began crying and went to the car. The next thing I knew, I was driving a burgundy colored vehicle, possibly the old red car we used to have. I passed an embankment and deja vu hit me, and I knew I saw something on that hillside before, so I looked again and saw a mostly black, but partially white large animal up on top. Directly below, in the very middle of the road were two or three very small bears that were killed by traffic. I remember that I was driving very fast, but I did not exactly recognize the area. I woke up shortly after. I have no ideas about this dream, so input would be appreciated!
I'll be writing this blog to follow my dreams. My dreams are very vivid and I tend to remember the vast majority of them. I will provide my own analysis and feedback from viewers is appreciated.

Dreams within the past couple weeks
Within the past couple weeks, I've had some seriously memorable and seriously strange dreams. I don't think I want to get into details about some of them because they're not exactly appropriate for all readers.
A few days ago, I had a dream that I had fallen asleep on my night shift at work. I slept on the couch through the next shift coming in. I was supposed to leave at 12 noon, but I woke up at 2:53pm to my replacement staff sitting on the chair in the living room staring at me. He said that I had been sleeping for 20 minutes and that he would be turning me in. I ran downstairs to punch out, obviously late, and I begged him not to turn me in. I then took the cordless phone so that he couldn't call anyone, and I left. That was all I remember of that dream.
Another dream I had, my Gram had moved from her house into a small cottage. My aunt was not concerned with showing my cousin the house, but instead, she took him to the garage to show him the massive amount of Christmas decorations. Inside the cottage was very warm, and on the outside, the front porch and porch roof had been ripped off. My dad was to be replacing it. There was a small set of stairs that led up the inside of the yellow cottage, but I do not know where they went. I do know that this set of stairs was right inside the front door. My Gram did not buy this cottage, but was instead renting. Her landlord's name was Linn or Linda, and we never officially met her, but communicated with her through notes attached to the front door. Gram had paid her bills in advance, and was only to pay $100 of her gas bill, but received a $212 bill. We wrote a note to her landlord who then said to only pay $100. I do not remember much else about this dream.
A couple weeks ago, I had a dream that I was at a local grocery store with my younger cousin, Corey. We were picking up eggs and bread. I was driving my mom's car. We parked in a space very close to the front door of the store and proceeded to walk in. I hit the lock button on the keyless entry remote several times but did not hear the car beep to confirm that it locked. There were several suspicious looking men hanging around the front door and they blocked my view when I tried to turn around and lock the door. I pushed past them, having an uneasy feeling in my stomach, and when I got back to the car, the driver's door was ripped off and my lap top which had been inside was gone. I watched as a car took off and the men began to surround me. I panicked and tried calling 911 several times but my call would not go through. I ran in the store hoping to escape all the people, but they followed me to a bathroom area. Most of the men went into the ladies room, expecting that was where I would go, but instead, I went in the men's room and locked myself in a stall. I attempted to call 911 again, only to be told by an operator that 911 was unavailable until the next morning at normal business hours. I then called my work manager to tell her what was going on, and although she lives a good distance from there, she was there in about 2 minutes to get me. I got in and she took me to her house and we tried again to call 911. I do not remember what happened in between the time I got to her house and when I drove back to the store the next day. When I arrived the next afternoon, my cousin was waiting outside, and asked if we needed cheese with the eggs and bread. I don't remember saying anything to him, but he got in the car which I had borrowed from my manager and we went back to my house. That was the end of this dream.
Although there were other dreams within the past couple weeks, these are the most vivid.

Getting Started
For as long as I could remember, I've had memorable dreams. They're weird, and they make me wonder what is going on in my head. For awhile, I let them go, thinking nothing of them, but lately, they've gotten weird again. For Christmas, my brother & sister got me a dream book that explains a little about dreams, why we have dreams, and there is also a dream dictionary included. This book encourages me to keep track of my dreams and try to understand them as I go, taking special note on recurring dreams. I figured a blog would be a great way to express my dreams in words and allow my followers to provide their insight on my dreams as well. My next couple entries will examine some of my most recent dreams. I will be keeping my laptop at my bedside so when I wake up, I can record things exactly as I remember them. Bear with me, I think this will be exciting! =)
